Disclosure

On occasion the site owner earns money from services such as advertising, sponsored posts, hosted giveaways, recipe development, writing, photography and styling. Affiliate marketing links are used to signpost where you can buy products mentioned. Posts labelled as “sponsored” feature specific material i.e. links, images and copy written to a brief or a deadline in return for payment. On occasion the site owner features copy written by guest reviewers who are always introduced as such.

Products and places

Posts following receipt of sample products are identified within the text and in the case of a dedicated post, with thanks at the end. Receiving a sample product does not prejudice my editorial content. See the post on Baked and Delicious magazine for an example. Sample products used in recipes are disclosed on first use.

Most travel and restaurant posts follow a personal visit paid for by myself. Posts written after hosted visits are identified with thanks to the venue. I write freely about hosted meals or events good or bad. See my posts about Cafe Luc and Radisson Edwardian hotels for examples of two that were lacking. Sometimes I love things enough to write several posts about them – see my series on Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and Peggy Porschen.

Catalogue images or publicity shots may be used for illustrative purposes in non-sponsored posts. On occasions where I publish recipes from brands or books, the source is credited.

Origin of recipes

Around 80% of recipes here are my own creation or adapted in some way. My definition of “adapted” is at least two ingredients being changed and/or the method being altered. The directions are in my own words except where a publishing house has given permission for me to reproduce them in conjunction with a book review or giveaway.
